Last night Brian brought home doughnuts. While David was eating breakfast, he asked if he could have one. When I told him he could have one after lunch today, he replied:

"Can I have lunch now? I'll save my breakfast for later."

At least he recognizes the importance of breakfast...

Tonight when we told David it was time for bed, his response was one I wasn't expecting to hear for a few more years:

"Just a minute, Mom. I have to finish my homework."
