Sarah has been staying at our house this week, and David has been loving it! The past few days, he's been allowed to sleep in the living room on Brian's military cot next to the couch that Sarah's been sleeping on. The unfortunate result of that sleeping arrangement is that he has been getting to sleep WAY too late, so tonight I told him he needed to sleep in his room. He was "concerned" about Sarah sleeping alone in the livingroom, so we moved the cot into his room. I told him that Sarah could come in after he fell asleep. We closed his door; then Brian, Sarah, and I started a movie in the livingroom. I figured, by the time it was over, he'd be asleep and she could go to bed.
About 10 minutes later, we heard a small voice from the other side of his bedroom door:
"Mom, I'm sleeping now."
... and then some hurried footsteps as he jumped back into bed and pretended to be asleep. He hasn't quite figured out that a huge grin and squeezed-shut eyes are a dead give-away that someone's faking. The talking doesn't help sell it, either...
